Carlos Edgar Frye, 92 passed away on January 24, 2026. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and honorable man known for his honesty, wit, strong morals, and unwavering work ethic.

Carlos was born in High Point, North Carolina, on May 30, 1933, to Harry Edgar Frye and Annie Clementine Fagg Frye. He was raised in Surry County and graduated from Mount Airy High School in 1951. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War, including overseas duty in Korea.

On March 18, 1956, he married the love of his life, Stella Louise Jones. They shared nearly 70 years of marriage and raised five children. Carlos worked for many years as an accountant and office manager, including long service with Hines Pallet Company, Surry Chemical Company, and Eco-Knit Hosiery Company, before retiring in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Kendall Ray Frye and Thomas Matthew Frye; and two sisters, Elaine Frye Snow and Elizabeth Frye Thomas.

Surviving are his wife, Stella of the home; a brother, Rod Frye and his wife, Rebecca, of Charlotte, NC; his children: son Bob Frye and his wife Nancy; son Fred Frye and his wife, Evelyn; and daughter Jennifer Arnder and her husband, Tim. He is also survived by nine grandchildren - Ian, Hannah, Jared, Emma, Lauren, MacKenzie, Whitney, Aubree, and Alisha and seven great-grandchildren.

Carlos will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, sharp mind, and deep devotion to his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rickey Martin and Reverend Dwight Sechrist officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Moody Funeral Home from 1:30 PM until the time of the service. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
