Carlos Walter Haunn

Mr. Carlos Walter Haunn, age 85, of Mt. Airy, passed away on May 19, 2008, at Central Continuing Care.  Mr. Haunn was born in Surry County on February 18, 1923, to the late Hillary Hampton and Ada Marshall Haunn.  He retired from National–Mt. Airy Furniture and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife, Annie Laurie McCraw Haunn of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Pete Gillespie of Mt. Airy; a son, Basil Haunn of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; grandsons and spouse, Mitchell and Renae Haunn of Eden, NC, Jimmy Gillespie of Lowgap, NC; a sister, Helen Haunn of Mt. Airy; brothers and a sister-in-law, Columbus Haunn and Roger and Lettie Haunn all of Mt. Airy.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Haunn was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Ronda Strickland Haunn; a sister, Eliza McCraw and a brother, Guy Haunn.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time to leave for the service.  A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday May 22, 2008, at Skyline Memory Gardens by the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Joy Ranch Children’s Home, P.O.
