Carol Gertrude Haskin Duncan

Mrs. Carol Gertrude Haskin Duncan, 59, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday night, January 2, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Duncan was born January 5, 1965, in Egg Harbor, NJ, one of eight children born to the late Richard and Lillian Renuart Haskin. Carol dedicated her career to teaching throughout Virginia and North Carolina, where she inspired and nurtured elementary students with kindness, patience, and a genuine love of learning. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gregory Andrew Duncan; a daughter, Kyra Amadee Duncan; three sisters, Germaine, Eadie, and Kathleen; a brother, Harry; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by a sister, Maureen; and two brothers, Ned and Ricky. No formal visitation or memorial service will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
