Carol Frances Creasy Mayes

Ms. Carol Frances Creasy Mayes, 64, of Mt. Airy passed away at her mother's home Wednesday, August 21, 2013. She was born in Surry County on April 16, 1949 to Matilda Mae O'Neal Creasy and the late Charles Herbert Creasy. Ms. Mayes was an office clerk at Pine State Knitwear and was a faithful member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where she was the pianist for many years. Carol was a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother. Carol had a loving heart and was loved by everyone who knew her. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lea Anna and Walter Goins, Jr., Susan and Jason Chilton all of Mt. Airy; five grandchildren, Olivia Goins, Trey Goins, Drew Goins, Isaac Chilton, Hannah Chilton all for Mt. Airy; one grandchild on the way, Sarah Chilton; her mother, Matilda Mae O'Neal Creasy of Mt. Airy; her twin brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Patsy Creasy of Mt. Airy; niece, Jennifer Creasy of Mt. Airy; nephew, Brian and his wife Sandra Creasy of Mt. Airy. In addition to her father, Ms. Mayes was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Creasy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayburn Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
