Carolyn Denise Jones Johnson

Ms. Carolyn Denise Jones Johnson, 56, of 117 Liberty Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. Ms. Johnson was born July 30, 1958, in Surry County, the daughter of Buddy Jones and the late Margaret Puckett Jones. Carolyn was formerly employed as a laundry assistant at Central Continuing Care. She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Parker Pruitt of Mount Airy and Julia Heather Hodges of Swannanoa; a son, James Adam Hodges of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Mikey Pruitt, Matthew Pruitt, and Marcus Pruitt, all of Mount Airy; a great-granddaughter, Layla Luna of Mount Airy; her father, Buddy Jones of King; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Arthur Foulks of Madison; and a brother, Kenneth Jones of Clemmons. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Eugene Brinkley officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
