Carolyn Joyce Boyer Phillips

Mrs. Carolyn Joyce Boyer Phillips, 72, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born May 18, 1945, in Grayson County, VA, to the late James Woodrow and Reva Tolliver Boyer. She was a homemaker and loved by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are two sisters, Kathy Boyer Harris and Janie Boyer Collier; her caregivers, Logan Harris and Anna Morton; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Phillips; a sister, Barbara Boyer Adams; and two brothers, Jimmy Boyer and Clayton Boyer. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 26, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Adam Delp officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Joy Ranch Home for Children, 813 Joy Ranch Road, Woodlawn, VA 24381.
