Carrie Imogene Key Chilton

Mrs. Carrie Imogene Key Chilton, age 85 of Pilot Mountain passed away April 1, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  She was born March 3, 1939, in Surry County to the late David and Ollie Mae Potts Key.  She retired from Surry Industries after many years of service.  Mrs. Chilton is survived by her husband, Roland Lee Chilton of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Kimberly Martin, and Ronnie and Teresa Martin; several grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, David McMillian and Mike Butler; and a sister-in-law, Marie Key.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chilton was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Thomas Martin and an infant son, Randy Thomas Martin; sister, Patricia Hatfield and an infant sister; two brothers, David Gray Key, and Grover Key; stepdaughters, Roxie Allison Chilton McMillian, and Fonda Jean Chilton Butler; and stepson, Roland Christopher “Chris” Chilton.  Funeral services will be held on Friday April 5, 2024, at 1:30pm at Victory Baptist Church with Dr. Joey Jessup and Rev. Charlie Newman officiating.   Burial will follow in the Ararat Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday at Victory Baptist Church from 12:00 – 1:30pm.   Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
