Carrie Ruth Creed Martin

Mrs. Carrie Ruth Creed Martin Age 84 of Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Saturday October 18, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Martin was born May 29, 1930 in Surry County to the late Daniel Morgan and Ronnie Spivey Creed. Carrie Ruth was a homemaker and retired from Perry Manufacturing and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law The Honorable Jerry Cash Martin and wife Carolyn Martin of Mt. Airy, two grandchildren Brandon Cash Martin of Mt. Airy, and Caroline Bokesch and husband Mark Bokesch of Columbia, SC, four great grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Kaylan Martin, Haley Martin, Olivia Bokesch and Camille Bokesch, two sisters and brother-in-law Jewel Smith and husband Tony Smith of Clemmons and Mildred Pack of Flint, MI. and a sister-in-law Dixie Creed of San Antonio, TX. In addition to her parents Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Monroe Martin, her brother Curtis Whitfield Creed a half-brother Daniel Bartley Creed, (Lizzie), three half-sisters Rosa Florence Cockerham (Dulah), Virgie Mae Collins (Smith) and Margaret Morris (Sherman). Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Dean Eaton with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC. The family wishes to express gratitude for the love and compassion shown by her special friends: Faye Dollyhite, Lisa Atkins, Doug, Karen and Mark Goins.
