Carrie Mae Sutphin

Mrs. Carrie Mae Sutphin, age 91, passed away on Sunday, May 28^th , 2023 at Northern Regional Hospital of Surry County.  Mrs. Sutphin was born April 26, 1932, in Surry County, to the late Hubert and Pency Hawks.  Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be dearly missed.  She is survived by her son; Timmy Sutphin, daughter-in-law; Cupid Sutphin, grandchildren; Johnny Sutphin Jr., Nicole Sutphin, and Janell Drakeford (Steven), and eight wonderful great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Sutphin was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Sutphin, son; Johnny Sutphin, sister; Elvie Holder, and brothers; Curtis Hawks, Cossie Hawks.  The funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 11:00 am at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 until 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Turner-Duncan family Cemetery, Laurel Fork, Virginia.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to charity of choice.
