Cathy Lynn Thomas Huffman

A faithful wife of 40 years, a loving mom, a precious grandma, a sweet friend, a devoted sister, a wonderful daughter, and a devout Christian, Cathy Lynn Thomas Huffman, 64, of Mount Airy, stepped into her heavenly home on Thursday afternoon, June 1, 2023, from Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem.  Mrs. Huffman was born April 14, 1959, in Forsyth County, to Wayne Marcus Thomas and the late Nadine Morris Thomas.  Cathy was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.  Left to cherish her memory and follow her amazing example are her husband, Donald Charles “Donnie” Huffman; a daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Justin Stovall; five grandchildren, McKenna Stovall, Milo Stovall, Simon Stovall, Leo Stovall, and Owen Stovall; her father, Wayne Marcus Thomas; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Barry Hill; a brother, Larry Thomas; a niece, Katie Hill; several half-sisters and half-brothers; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Trent and Melissa Huffman; and two nephews, Ben Huffman and Reece Huffman.  In addition to her mother, Mrs. Huffman was preceded in death by a grandson, Oliver Thomas Stovall; and her special grandparents, Alfred Samuel and Ruth Edwards Thomas.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Bill Watson and the Rev. Jeff Wall officiating.  Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105; or Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, note “Brenner Children’s” on the memo line of your check and sent to Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations, P.O.
