Charlean Venable

Mrs. Charlean C. Venable, 88, of Mount Airy, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025. Mrs. Venable was born February 2, 1937 to Berra Frank Cook and Ruth Wilson Cook in Surry County. She was the devoted wife of Clyde J. Venable for 70 years. They were partners in life, in marriage and work. She was office manager in the family business, Triangle Heating and Cooling, for over 40 years, her dedication and work ethic were a cornerstone of its success. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Cara Fields and her husband Larry; son, Jody Venable; three grandchildren, Casey Maddox (Brandon), Lori Easter and Will Easter (Ashley); and five great-grandchildren, Jessica Duggins, Camden Easter, Elizabeth Easter, Chase Maddox and Emily Maddox, all of whom brought her much joy; and a special cousin and dear friend Linda Sheets. Predeceasing her were her parents, a brother Robert Cook, and sister Maxine Devitt, sister-in-law Bessie Jones and brother-in-law Billy Venable. Charlean was a long-time member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. She loved to sing, especially hymns. She could remember every song she ever sang, including childhood and silly songs with multiple verses that seemed to go on forever. She was an excellent decorative arts needleworker. She was beautiful inside as well as outside and will be remembered as a thoughtful, kind and generous person and, of course, for her amazing meals, cakes, and pies. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8th at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Service Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. Visitation with family will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina 27017.
