Mr. Charles Eugene Stafford, age 74, passed away Sunday morning October 13, 2024, at Chatham Nursing and Rehab in Elkin, North Carolina. Mr. Stafford was born January 2, 1950, in Giles County, Virginia to the late Harvey Bowman Stafford Jr., and Elsie Marie Sink Stafford Hutchens. He worked many years as a customer service representative for United Plastics until his retirement. Mr. Stafford is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Kevin Stafford and Julie, Bradley Fisher Stafford and Julie; grandchildren, Morgan McPherson, Brooklyn Braswell, Madison Smith, Joseph Arnett; great grandchildren, Izzabella Davis, Haisley Towe; sister, Alice Stafford Monk; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas Stafford and Lynn; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Gwen Timmons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stafford is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Sue Martin Stafford; brother, Harvey Bowman Stafford, III. There will be no formal visitation held at the request of Mr. Stafford. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 2 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with Captain Ryan Vincent officiating. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank the staff at Chatham Nursing and Rehab for the care and compassion shown to Mr. Stafford during his sickness. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Stafford family.
