Charles Edward Weavil

Charles Edward Weavil, 74, of Claudville VA passed away August 8, 2022. He was born in eastern Forsyth County NC to Russell and Opal P Weavil in the small community of Guthrie. Eddie grew up playing outside on the family land with his siblings and cousins. His love of the outdoors followed him throughout his life as an avid hiker, camper and kayak fisherman. Eddie was a Vietnam era Navy veteran. He later owned his own businesses, Snowcreek Landscape-Lawn Maintenance and Dan Valley Landscape Nursery. He volunteered his time and expertise to the Greater Mount Airy Habitat for Humanity for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Shelton Weavil, their son, Joseph Taylor (Kelly), his daughter, Kortney, his sisters Sharon Brownell (Ken) and Diane Murphy (Ward), brother-in-law, Steve Shelton (Olivia), two generations of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Eddie could lighten the spirit of any gathering and leaves a legacy of laughter, keen wit, and choosing the road less traveled. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for their tender, loving care.
