Charlie Clane Evans

Mr. Charlie Clane Evans age 79 of Mt. Airy, NC passed away Friday October 3, 2014 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Evans was born September 10, 1935 in Surry County to the late Lonnie Martin and Bertha Alma Lowe Evans. Mr. Evans worked for the Mt. Airy Chair Co. for several years, but farming was his love which he did until his health failed. Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law Nelson Wayne and Kathy Evans of Cana, five nieces and nephews Sue and Bill Wall of Mt. Airy, Karen and Scott Snow of King, Nelson W. Evans, Jr of Cana, Norbert and Brooke Evans of Mt. Airy and Christopher Sean Burcham of Mt. Airy and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a brother Clinard E. Evans, by a niece Linda Gail Evans and by a his special companion Trudy Creed. Funeral services will be held Monday October 6, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Billy Moore with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 PM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
