Charlie Everette Parkes

Mr. Charlie Everette Parkes, age 71, of Lowgap, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born on June 29, 1954 in Onslow County, NC to the late Charles and Helen Sutphin Parkes. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Dawn Lane and Jennifer Parkes; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; sister, Patty Shue; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Parkes (Sharon); brother-in-law, Jim Joyce, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mr. Parkes was preceded in death by a daughter, Mandi Bailey; sisters, Debra Joyce and Sandy Brookshire; brothers, Butch and Ricky Parkes. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
