Christy (Hawks) Potts

Mrs. Christy Hawks Potts, age 65 of Dobson, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Potts was born on March 18, 1960, in Surry County to the late Raymond “RC” and Joye Monday Hawks. Christy was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her husband, Robert “RP” Potts; son and special daughter-in-law, Zebulon Potts and Chelsea; sisters and brother-in-law, Terri Hawks Beasley, Gina Hawks Brown and Larry; brother and special sister-in-law, Patrick Hawks and Marie; five nieces and nephews, Trinton Beasley, Nicki Darnell, Maggie Hawks, Adam Brown, Casey Scott; four great nieces; special friends, Jonathan and Leslie Barker, her church family; along with her fur babies, Buster and Clover. Mrs. Potts was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond “RC” and Joye Monday Hawks. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Amazing Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Barker, Preacher Scotty Bullins, and Preacher Jake Easter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Amazing Grace Baptist Church from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Amazing Grace Baptist Church’s Building Fund, 1053 Blevins Store Road, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.
