Cindy Lou Midkiff Hicks

Ms. Cindy Lou Midkiff Hicks, 52, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Hicks was born May 7, 1957, in Carroll County, VA, to William and Cova Banks Midkiff. She was a loving mother and grandmother and dear sister who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are a daughter, Kristy Hicks of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy "L.B." Hicks, III and Emily of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, T.J. Waid, Bethany Hicks, and Shayna Hicks; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ann and David Snyder of Yadkinville, Frances and John Bateman of Union Grove, and Nina Garton of Hillsville, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Hicks was preceded in death by a daughter, Kara Hicks; and two brothers, Frank Midkiff and Danny Midkiff. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2009, at Skyline Memory Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Wendell Horton. The family will receive friends Monday at Moody Funeral Home from 12:00 until time for the service.
