C.J. Golding


Mr. C.J. Golding, 79, of 3859 Lambsburg Road, Lambsburg, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born May 27, 1931, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Jack Creed and Grace Hawks Golding. He retired from North Carolina Granite Corporation and was a member of Lambsburg Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Forest Bryant Golding of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis Golding of Mount Airy and Marie and L.J. Simmons of Mount Airy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Luther Golding of Lambsburg, VA, Randy and Trudy Golding of Mount Airy; and Clarence and Rhonda Golding of Lambsburg, VA; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; three sisters, Jo Brannock of Mount Airy, Hattie Cain of Cana, VA, and Betty White of Mount Airy; and a brother, Claude Golding of Oxford. In addition to his parents, Mr. Golding was preceded in death by two sisters, Alene Faulkner and Pauline Koonts; three brothers, Roger Golding, Harley Golding, and Wayne Golding; and a great-grandson, Casey Owen Terry. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 27, 2011, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jimmy McCraw and the Rev. Roland McCraw officiating. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to express a special thanks to Glenn and Patricia Semones and family for their help that was extended to the Golding family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
