Clara Elizabeth Collins Hall

Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Collins Hall, age 91 of Ararat, VA, passed away Sunday afternoon October 29, 2023, at Hillsville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.  She was born February 23, 1932, in Stokes County to the late Joseph Gideon Collins, Sr. and Mintoria O’Dell Craddock Collins.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.  Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Kay Hall, Shelia and Keith Martin, and Lori and Jeff McAlexander; six grandchildren, David and Felecia Haymore, Todd Ayers, Ashley McAlexander and Tony, Kendal McAlexander, Seth Shelton, and Sam and Lindsay Shelton; six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Sky, Clary, Colton, Owen, and Ronnie; five sisters, Susie Edwards, Naomi Hall, Peggy Walker, Linda Edwards, and Myrtle and Davis Love; a brother, Joseph and Brenda Collins; and several other family and friends.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William Grant Hall; two daughters, Lynne Ayers and Carolyn Haymore; five sisters, Thelma Bruner, Hazel Stevens, Mabel Griffitts, Hester Eaton, and Gladys Matthews; and by three brothers, Robert Collins, Vester Collins, and James Collins.  A service of worship and celebration of Clara’s life will be held on Thursday afternoon November 2, 2023, at 1:00pm in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Mr. Joseph Collins officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 - 1:00pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive Suite 101, Mount Airy, NC 27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
