Mrs. Clara Belle McCraw Taylor, age 95, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday night, October 23, 2024, at Central Continuing Care with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Taylor was born on September 18, 1929, in Carroll County, Virginia, to the late Frank and Lula (Blackburn) McCraw. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, that will be surly missed. Mrs. Taylor had retired from Spencer’s knitwear and worked for many years at Stanley’s Country Kitchen. She was a long-time member of Imogene Baptist Church, where her husband was the pastor until his death. She enjoyed visiting Dayspring Baptist and Welcome Baptist Church with her son’s families. She was a very faithful servant of the Lord; she loved her church family. Her family was always very special to her and loved getting together and cooking Sunday dinners for them. Mrs. Taylor is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, David and wife Linda (Tate) Taylor, Terry and wife Tammy (Mosley) Taylor; grandchildren and their spouses, Christy Taylor Partin and husband Shawn, Misty Taylor Boyer and husband Stewart, Tammy Taylor Delp and husband Dr. Adam Delp, Rondal Taylor, Cameron and wife Karlie (Marion) Taylor; great grandchildren, Cydney Boyer, Dawson Boyer, Skylar Partin, Gad Delp, Asher Delp, Abram Taylor; step great-grandchildren, Jessica Richardson, Blaine Partin; step great great-grandchild, Yancy Richardson; three nephews and four nieces; several great nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rev. Robert (Bob) Taylor; stillborn son, Daniel Gray Taylor; sisters, Annie McCraw Haunn, Myrtle Lee McCraw Bush; brothers, Vernon McCraw, Jesse McCraw. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 28, 2024, at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM, with the Dr. Rick Jackson and Pastor Rick Crouse officiating. There will be no formal visitation, the family will hold a private viewing. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff and caregivers at Central Continuing Care, and to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for all the care and compassion given to Mama.
