Clarine Wright Shinault

Ms. Clarine Wright Shinault, age 88, formerly of Dobson, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Wellstar Community Hospice in Austell, Georgia. She was born September 10, 1935, in Surry County, to the late George Samuel Wright and the late Nancy Gilley Wright. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Gene Gwaltney; son and daughter-in-law, James and Suzanne Shinault; son and his fiancée, Jeff Shinault and Kathy Weatherman; grandchildren, Liza Groscost (Whitney), Samantha Roche (Josh), Taylor Shinault (Gabriel), Hunter Shinault, and Dean Shinault (Joanna); five great-grandchildren; sisters, Geneva Brown, Georgia Ann Frick (Danny) and her brother, J.D. Wright (Dale).

Clarine was a long-time member of New Hope Baptist Church, a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.  A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 18, 2023, in the Moody-Davis Chapel in Dobson, with Rev. Austin Caviness officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Shinault family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the  Alzheimer's Association - Western Carolina Chapter, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
