Mr. Claude Clark Robinson, 87, of Cana, Virginia, passed away at Trinity Grove Nursing Facility in Wilmington, NC on October 26, 2018. His funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday November 3, 2018 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00.  Claude was born in Burnsville, NC to Georgia Gibbs Robinson and Fred Robinson on June 17, 1931. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a member of Fancy Gap United Methodist Church. Claude had been a Mason for sixty-one years and was a member of Lodge 717 in Burnsville, NC. He was employed by Blythe Construction Co. for ten years where he worked with them in the building of Washington Dulles International Airport. He was working for Blythe Construction building Interstate 77 when he met his wife to be, Gaye. They were married on June 17, 1975 and loved and cared for each other for 43 years. Together they owned and operated Lake View Motel and Restaurant in Fancy Gap Virginia until their retirement in 1999.  He is survived by his wife Gaye Bondurant Poore Robinson, daughter Donna Poore Williams Wood and husband, Danny; two grandsons, Robert Williams and wife Lauren. Matthew Williams and wife Jessica; two great grandsons Andrew and Parker, all from Wilmington, NC' two sisters, Louise Penland of Burnsville, NC, Doris Ann Hensley and husband Parson of Ashville, NC; a brother, Charles Robinson and wife Ramona of Burnsville, NC;  a nephew, Parson Hensley and wife, Namrata and daughters  of Kennesaw, GA; and a niece, Stephanie Williams and husband Roger and daughter of Louisville, KY; he is also survived by his grandson’s father, Butch Williams and wife, Mary of Wilmington, NC and the many wonderful family and friends whom he dearly loved.  Claude is preceded in death by a brother, Jim Robinson.  Our family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff and management at Trinity Grove Nursing Facility and Lutheran Services for their wonderful care for Claude and our family both physically and emotionally. A special thanks to Ginger Galleo and Joan for their professional loving care, Ginger became his last special friend. Thank you to Pastor John Meisenheimer of Covenant Moravian Church in Wilmington, NC for his pastoral care of Claude, Gaye and our family for the past two months.  Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Fancy Gap United Methodist Church in care of Lynn Dawson, 119 Ranger Rd.
