Mr. Clay “Junior” Forrest, age 75 of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Village Care of King. Mr. Forrest was born on October 4, 1948, in Surry County to the late John and Lucy Culler Forrest. Junior was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He spent his career in the construction industry, ranging from home building and master carpenter to superintendent of large commercial projects. Mr. Forrest was a member of the Christian faith, who loved his family and gathering with them for all the birthday and holiday celebrations. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Anne Voris Forrest; a daughter and son-in-law, Melanie Forrest Bodenhamer and Jason; a son and daughter-in-law, Marcus Clay Forrest and Sarah; four grandchildren and spouses, Zachary Forrest and Caitlyn, Hannah Forrest Milem and Luke, Lee Bodenhamer, Jackson Bodenhamer; one great-grandson, Jasper Forrest; a sister and brother-in-law, Sydney and Robert Ferris; a sister-in-law, Margie Forrest, a brother-in-law, Dillard Goad, several nieces and nephews; along with many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Forrest was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Forrest Hicks, Barbara Forrest Goad, Lona Forrest Reynolds; four brothers, Lee Irvin Forrest, Aldy Clyde Forrest, Johnny McArthur “Mac” Forrest, William “Bill” Forrest; seven half siblings, Will Forrest, Joe Forrest, Richard Forrest, Ethel Forrest, Ruby Forrest, Nina Forrest, and Frank Forrest. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Bread of Life Church in Rural Hall (648 Almondridge Drive, Rural Hall, NC - lower level) with Reverend Fred Cordial and Reverend Kevin Powers officiating. Interment will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery in Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Bread of Life Church in Rural Hall from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bread of Life Church in Rural Hall, building fund, 1643 Rosebud Road, Walnut Cove, North Carolina 27052. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
