Mr. Clifford Melvin Gephart, 93 of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on the morning of May 16, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was born on December 19, 1931, in South Williamsport, PA to the late Lloyd Edmond Gephart and Margaret Louisa (Hammer) Gephart. Clifford served in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician during the Korean war and a computer programmer in Civil Service. He served 22 years in the Navy reaching the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer and served in Civil Service for an additional 25 years receiving many commendations. Left to cherish his memory are his five daughters and their spouses, Yvonne (John) Gehrlich, Karen (Wesley) Woody, Teresa (Mark) Flippin, Christine (Ray)Creal and Amy (Mike) Hussey; along with his sister, Marg McClain; his stepchildren Tommy (Isabella) Cole, Amy Sisson, and Tracy (Allen) Pudder; along with 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gephart was preceded in death by his first wife, and childhood sweetheart, Teresa (Balzer) Gephart; his second wife, Billie Jean (Reynolds) Gephart; along with his brothers, Paul, Delmont, Ralph and John; his sisters, Marion, Lois, and Emily. Mr. Gephart was a very generous and loving person, who with his warmth and wonderful sense of humor, made friends wherever he went. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family, including all his dear friends at Ridgecrest Senior Living. His burial will be at a future time at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC. He will be buried with full Military Honors.
