Clinton Sealel McMillian, 88, passed away on October 26, 2024, in Dobson, NC. Born on August 6, 1936, he lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by loved ones. Clinton is survived by his devoted wife and caregiver, Gaye Haynes McMillian; his daughter, Darlene McMillian Juliana, and son-in-law, David Juliana, of Cana; his sister, Opal McMillian Thomas of Mt. Airy; and his brothers, Ross McMillian of Cana and Clayton McMillian of Ararat, VA. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Kristin Ayers Myers (Randy Myers) of Roanoke, VA, and Dr. Derek Ayers (Katie Riggs Ayers) of Advance, NC. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Lucas, Isabella, Marcus, and Thomas Myers, and Archer Atlas Ayers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Cassell McMillian and Laura Dawson McMillian; his first wife, Helen Hawks McMillian; siblings Eulala McMillian Dawson, Mabel McMillian Utt, Dwight McMillian, Glen McMillian, Earl McMillian, two siblings who died in infancy and two great-grandchildren, Adaline and Axel Ayers. Clinton loved his extended family greatly and was adored by each of them. Surviving extended family are: step children and daughters-in-law Timothy D. Haynes (Melonie), Joey D. Haynes (Peggy); step grandchildren (wife) Justin C. Haynes (Crystal) , Austin C. Haynes (Crystal) and Landon T. Haynes; step great-grandchildren Bella Haynes, Cooper Haynes, Destiny Haynes and Joseph Timothy Haynes, Colton Parnell, Raleigh Woods. Special Friend and Caregiver Linda Pack. His beloved pet (Gidget), Clinton's life was marked by his profound connections to his family, friends, community and church. All will remember him as a pillar of strength and love in their lives and a man of unwavering faith. A funeral service will be held at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, at 11:30 AM with the Rev. Andrew Willard and Rev. Israel Gwyn officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery. Per Mr. McMillian's request there will be no formal visitation In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice PO Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina whose staff and facilities provided excellent care and comfort to Clinton and his family these past several weeks or to Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 97 Oak Grove Trail, Cana, VA 24317.
