Mr. Clinton Woodrow Moseley, 98, of Mt. Airy, N.C. lived from July 31, 1916 until January 16, 2015. He was the son of Sidney Cassell Mosley and Lucy Davis Key Mosley and husband of Benny Johnson Moseley who preceded him in death in 2013, having celebrated their 75th anniversary before her passing. He faithfully attended White Plains Friends Meeting for sixty-five years and was a part of Quaker Men for many years. Professionally, Mr. Moseley was affiliated with Merritt Machine and Supply for forty one years, twenty six of those as president. He was elected to the Surry County Board of Education in 1953 and served until 1984, including six years as chairman. A charter member of the Franklin Ruritain Club, Mr. Moseley was active for six decades with that organization. Surviving are daughter, Sarah Johnson, and son, John and his wife, Tracy Moseley of Mt. Airy; grandchildren Ben Belton, Raleigh; Christine and husband Patrick Casey of Huntersville; Brady and wife Julie Johnson, Cana, VA; and Caroline Moseley, Arlington, VA; two great grandsons and son-in-law Bill Belton, Mt. Airy. In addition to his wife, Mr. Moseley was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Belton, sisters, Stacy Shinault and Tessie Patterson and brothers, Elmer Mosley, Ernest Mosley and Alex Mosley. Graveside services will be held Sunday January 18, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery with services conducted by Pastor Jake Penley. The family will gather in the fellowship Hall after the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to White Plains Friends Meeting at 849 Old Hwy 601 Mt. Airy, NC. 27030 or to the charity of the donors choice.
