Mr. Dale Lewis Trenter, age 91 of Mount Airy, passed away early Friday morning, October 25, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Trenter was born in Marshall County, West Virginia on September 14, 1933, to the late Lewis Earl Holmes and Lettia Gazella West Trenter. Dale served his country in the United States Navy. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his daughters, Tina Williams, Tonya Lundy; sons, Nelson Trenter, Jeff Trenter and girlfriend, Carolyn Nester; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Trenter, Richard Williams and Analee, Travis Greenlee, Destiny Greenlee, Whitney Trenter; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Trenter, Christian Aguilar, mother of his children, Cynthia Trenter; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and his family, Phil Martin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Trenter was preceded in death by a son, Dale Allen Trenter; seven sisters; six brothers; and a stepfather, John Burdine. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Peoples Church Cemetery with Reverend Randy Edwards officiating. Full Military Right conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 Mount Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain. Inurnment will follow in the Peoples Church Cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassionate care shown to Mr. Trenter during his illness. Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
