Dale Ellis Pendleton

Mr. Dale Ellis Pendleton, age 70, of Critz, Virginia passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023. He was born on January 14, 1953, to the late Alvin Ellis Pendleton and Louenna Stanley Pendleton “Tootsie”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in-law, Brenda Pendleton and father-in-law and mother-in-law, James F. Gilbert and Nadean Plasters Gilbert.  Dale was extremely hard working, inventive, and very capable; he could fix anything.  He enjoyed vintage foreign sports cars and going to the beach, but his greatest love was his family.  He was a devoted husband “Mr. P,” loving father “Dadoo,” caring grandfather “Poppy,” brother, uncle, and friend.

Left to cherish the memory of Dale are his wife of 48 years and high school sweetheart, Donna Gilbert Pendleton of the home; his children, Leigh Ann Hazelwood and husband, Mike, Christopher Dale Pendleton and wife, Heather; seven grandchildren, Lilly Hazelwood, Lauren Hazelwood, Emma Rose Pendleton, Aubrey Pendleton,  Madilyn Hazelbaker, Haley Gillispie, and Karson Gillispie; one brother, Jerry Alvin Pendleton; one sister, Judy Ann Pendleton and husband, Richard LaChance; two brothers-in-law, James Gilbert and wife, Serena,  and Galen Gilbert; sister-in-law, Debbie Cox and husband, Barry; one niece, Jessica Sarver; three nephews, Joshua Draper, Jimmy Gilbert, and Jackson Gilbert; and his beloved dog, Pinky.

Funeral services will be held on Friday June 16, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Sam Leonard officiating burial will follow in the Plasters Family Cemetery.   The family will receive friends Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Plasters Family Cemetery Fund, C/o Linda Hopkins, 1233 Elamsville Road, Stuart, VA  24171.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
