Mr. Daniel Lynn "Danny" Davis, 51, of Traphill, formerly of Dobson, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010, after a motorcycle accident near Mount Airy. He was born February 28, 1959, in Surry County, to the late Clay Monroe and Betty Lee Moser Davis. He was a graduate of Surry Central High School Class of 1978, where he was an all-conference basketball player. Danny had a big heart and a special place in his heart for children - he loved his daughter and step-daughter. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Goings Davis of Mount Airy; a daughter, Danielle Blair Davis of Charlotte; a step-daughter, Gracie Goings of Mount Airy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet D. and Gregory L. Seivers of Dobson Jand anell D. and Randy Wood of Thurmond; nieces and nephews, Miranda and Jason Gray, Jana S. Moore, Jamie and Shannon Church, Justin and Kattie Seivers, Randee and Adam Summers, and Whitney Wood; several great nieces and great nephews; and a special aunt and uncle, Kathleen and Joe Bill Collins of Dobson. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 27, 2010, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with the Rev. Billy Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Fairview Baptist Church, 7659 NC 268, Dobson, NC 27017.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday April 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Billy Marsh will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
