Mr. David Glenn Beasley, age 79, of Woodlawn, Virginia, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026, peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends. David was born in Akron, Ohio, on October 29, 1946, to the late Glenn Beasley and Margaret Somody Beasley Miskalo. In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his daughter, Margie Roxanne Alley. Left to honor his memory are his devoted wife of 35 years, Carolyn Beasley; his loving son and his family, Eric Beasley and Melanie; seven grandchildren, Caleb Beasley, Isabelle Beasley, Seth Beasley, Bronx Davidson Beasley, Alex Alley, Nicholas and Siena Alley, Christopher Alley; two stepsons, Derek and Lisa Burcham, Travis Burcham and J. Donaldson; four step grandchildren, Dylan and Laken Burcham, Garrett and Madysn Burcham, Weston Burcham, and Cory and Ashley Wilson; five step great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Jan Beasley, Eddy and Patty Beasley; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Lindsey and Remona Alderman (David); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special family members, Larry and Sandra Combs. The family would also like to thank the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for the care David received during his stay. David was loved by many, a true man of his word. He loved his Lord, and that was a true testament of his faith. He always offered encouragement to those in need and witnessed his faith in Jesus Christ to many, always eager to fellowship with others. He was honorably discharged from the US Army serving during Vietnam Crisis Era, serving in the division of Army Security Agency based in the Philippines, having the rank of E5 Sergeant Specialist. David retired as an insurance agent with Farm Bureau of North Carolina, after several years of dedicated service. A funeral service for Mr. Beasley will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with Pastor Joe Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens with full military rites provided by the VFW Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina 27017. Moody of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Beasley family.
