David Foy Butcher

Mr. David Foy Butcher, age 73, of Lowgap, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  He was born on June 30, 1949, in Surry County to the late Elbert and Ila Rose Lowe Butcher.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Evelyn Bartley Butcher; children, Kevin Butcher (Tammy), Lori Sawyers (Allen); grandchildren, Keaton Butcher, Logan Butcher, Gavin Butcher, Emily Tate, Parker Johnson, Joseph Sawyers, Joshua Sawyers; sister, Judy Kenny; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy Butcher (Jeanie), Donald Butcher (Shirley), Wade Butcher, Randy Butcher (Tonnia).  In addition to his parents, Mr. Butcher was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Butcher.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church in Dobson with services conducted by Rev. Randy Edwards and Rev. Russ Billo.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until time for the service at the church.
