David Eugene Gunter Sr.

In loving memory of David Eugene Gunter Sr., age 80 of Dobson. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather. David passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 surrounded by family. He was born in Henry County, Virginia on December 16, 1943 to the late David Willard Gunter and Christine Donavant Gunter (Honeycutt). He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lou Gunter; brother, Rodney Gunter; and sister, Dianne Walker. Left to cherish his memory are sons, Gene Gunter and Mike Gunter; daughter and son in law, Lisa (Brian) Coleman; grandchildren, Layne (Kevin) Heifrin, BreAnna (Luke) Jones, Mason Gunter, Adrianna Dillion; and great grandchildren, Davin Talbott, and Shep Jones. He loved to be in the company of his family who knew him as Papa, they will miss him deeply. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel in Dobson, North Carolina, with pastor Gerald Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mayberry 4 Paws, 1632 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy NC 27030.
