Mr. David Franklin Marion, 65, of Pinnacle, passed away Sunday morning, October 29, 2023, at his home, surrounded by family.  Mr. Marion was born February 19, 1958, in Forsyth County, the son of Magaline “Maggie” Elsie Lynch Marion Hiatt and the late Warren Franklin Marion.  David was married to Diane Perdue and together they had two children.  He was a skilled carpenter and co-owner of Marion Brothers Subcontractors.  He loved his animals, nature, family, and friends.  David was a son, brother, father, papa, great-grandpa, uncle, and friend, who will be deeply missed.  He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Chastity and Brian Payne; a son, O’Shea Marion; four grandchildren, Dylan Payne, Lexie Payne, Raylan Payne, and Iain Marion; a great-grandchild, Wesley Ward; his mother and stepfather, Magaline “Maggie” and Bobby Hiatt; and a brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Gayle Marion.  In addition to his father, Mr. Marion was preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda “Queenie” Annette Marion Gordon; and a brother, Richie “Rich” Dean Marion.  No formal visitation or memorial service will be held.  At his request, David wished to be cremated and his cremains spread over the family farm.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the friendship and love shown by Chris “Doc” and Kim Holland, Kevin “Spud” and Mary King, and Jane Whitaker.  Daddy loved you all very much!  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
