David Ray McAdams, age 55 of Ararat, VA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 14, 2026. He was born in Patrick County on July 19, 1971 to Edgar Junior McAdams and Mary Alice Trexler McAdams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Mae McAdams and former wife, Ava Ann McAdams; two brothers, John Edgar McAdams and James Paul McAdams.

He was a hardworking man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Robert McAdams and his fiancé Jennifer Hunley, Steven Dewayne McAdams, Toby Allan Woods, Miranda Tate (Brandon), James Niten (Ashley), and Virginia Niten; grandchildren, Brody McAdams, Bethany Tate, Colton Tate, Logan Niten, Marleigh Niten, and Magdaline Niten; two brothers, Paul McAdams and Tim McAdams.
