Mrs. Debbie Hope Capps Bowman, age 63, of Mount Airy, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at her son’s home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Bowman was born on May 20, 1963, in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Joseph Cecil and Hope Harrison Capps. Debbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Debbie spent many years working for the Department of Social Services in the Child Protective Service division, where she aided many children in Surry County and surrounding areas. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her husband, Blane Gregory Bowman; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Blane Bowman and Christina; three grandchildren, Molly Gough, Erin Gough, James Gough and their father, Justin Gough; brother-in-law, Pete McBride; along with two nephews, Matthew McBride and Zachary McBride. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Wood McBride. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Sparks officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Moody Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassionate care provided to Mrs. Bowman during her illness.
