Mrs. Deborah Ruth Powers, age 72, of Danville, Virginia, passed away at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 17, 1953, to the late Olen Lavern Powers and Viola Gertrude Ferguson. Deborah enjoyed crocheting and watching her favorite TV show, Roseanne. She was a fan of The Beatles and Elvis Presley. She was an amazing southern cook, famous for her pancakes and chocolate gravy. She will be remembered for being a loving mother, adoring grandmother, and caring friend.

Left to cherish the memories of Deborah are her two children, Jennifer D. Crouse of Bassett and Kenneth B. Crouse, Jr. of Stuart; six grandchildren, LouDella Penn, Ethan Penn, Shakara Rudd, Aidan Crouse, Ivory Crouse, and Mariska Crouse; and longtime friend, Marlene Thomas.
