Delmar Ramsey Collins

Mr. Delmar Ramey Collins, 76, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Collins was born February 19, 1933, in Surry County, to Noah Washington and Pearl Mae Hiatt Collins. He was a well-known farmer. Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Collins of the home; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by five sisters, Louella Collins, Martha Hardy, Daisy Marshall, Elsie Burkhart and Bessie Moore; and three brothers, William Collins, Earnest Collins, and Early Collins. A graveside service will be held Friday, December 8, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Dean Eaton officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
