Mr. Dennis Charles Brintle, 60, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, May 13, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Brintle was born October 14, 1954, in Forsyth County, to Charles B. Brintle, Jr. and Blanche Atkins Brintle. Dennis graduated from North Surry High School in 1972. Following his high school graduation, he served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Brintle served as vice president of the Granite City Vietnam Veterans' Association. He is survived by his wife, Sherri Snow Brintle of the home; two daughters, Milissa Brintle (Cameron Hill) and Tiffany Lynn Brintle, both of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Zachary S. and Krystyn Brintle of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Olivia Brintle and Braydon Hill; his parents, Charles B. Brintle, Jr. and Blanche Atkins Brintle of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Kenny Nowlin of Mount Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwight and Dena Brintle and Rick and Laura Brintle, all of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Carmen Hamby Snow of Mount Airy; and his special children, Cody Jones, Ashley Jones, Celina Stammerjohann, and Beth Comer. Mr. Brintle was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Donald Gray Snow. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 15, 2015, at 3:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting, with the Rev. Jake Penley and the Rev. Mark A. Reece, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Sjögren's Syndrome Foundation, 6707 Democracy Boulevard, Suite 325, Bethesda, MD 20817. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
