Mr. Dennis Woodrow Haynes, age 80, of Dobson NC, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice home in Dobson, He was born September 20, 1945, in Surry County, to the late Woodrow Wilson Haynes, and the late Virgie Martha Branch Haynes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Ricky” Cleveland Haynes.
Mr. Haynes was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator for Town and Country Builders and was of the Baptist faith. Dennis was a people person and was a special friend to everyone he met. He also loved guns, knives and old western movies, and spending time with family and friends. Left to cherish his memories are his son Kevin Haynes, and his girlfriend, Jennifer Bowman; his grandson, Garret Haynes, and his girlfriend, Morgan Steelman; granddaughter, Rylee Giles, and her husband, Winston Giles; great grandson Worth Garrison Haynes; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie Haynes Sizemore and Wayne Sizemore; many nieces and nephews; and his earthly brothers, Ricky White and Earl Haynes. Mr. Haynes will be open for public viewing starting at 3:00 PM Wednesday July 15, up until the time of his graveside service on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM, in the Fisher River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Josh Sechrist officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 325, Dobson NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is respectfully serving the Haynes family,
