Denny Gray Burkhart

Mr. Denny Gray Burkhart, 63, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Surry County on August 12, 1950 to the late Claude and Lillian Hicks Burkhart. Mr. Burkhart was a member of Gospel Mission Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Debra Sensel Burkhart of the home; a step-daughter, Shawn Collins of Roanoke, VA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Bruce D'Amico, Shelby Jean Snow, Gary Sensel all of Mt. Airy, Terry Sensel of Roanock, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Mary Sue Burkhart, Ronnie and Frances Burkhart all of Mt. Airy, Sandra Hendricks of Roanoke, VA; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burkhart was preceded in death by two sisters, Ava Carol Whitaker and Diane Burkhart. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Gospel Mission Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Young and Rev. Donald Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the New Venture Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time of the service at Gospel Mission Baptist Church.
