Diana Lynn (Taylor) Gwyn

August 8, 1958 — September 23, 2025

Mount Airy, North Carolina

Diana Taylor Gwyn, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 23, 2025. Born on August 8, 1958, at Hugh Chatham Hospital in Elkin, North Carolina, Diana was the daughter of the late Barbara Ann Taylor and James Ray “Sheriff Jim” Taylor.

Diana’s life was marked by deep devotion to her family, steadfast principles, and unwavering strength. She was a proud and loving mother to her daughters, Taylor Martin (Dennis) and Jordan Wilson (Bobby), and she cherished every moment with her five grandchildren—Graylyn, Grant, and Garrison Martin, and Parker and Addison Wilson. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she embraced her role as “Gigi” with joy and boundless love.

She is also survived by her stepmother, Fay Taylor; her brother, Stewart Taylor; her niece, Amy Vestal; her sister-in-law, Belinda Hutson; and her aunt, Mae Finney.

A woman of conviction, Diana was deeply committed to her community and her beliefs. She graduated from Elon College in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Diana was a lifelong supporter of the Republican Party and a proud advocate of fiscal conservatism, values she viewed as essential to ensuring strong families and vibrant communities. She also took an active role in local elections, frequently volunteering and campaigning at the polls, where she was known for her warm smile and willingness to engage neighbors about issues she cared about.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to special friends and family—Lynn Goad, Janet Pate, Melissa Hiatt, Betty Ann Collins, and Belinda Hutson—for the extraordinary support and devotion they have shown over the past several months.

Diana’s legacy lives on through the family she adored and the principles she championed. Her sense of humor, gentle guidance, and steadfast loyalty will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
