Diane Dittmer Becker Leonard

Mrs. Diane Dittmer Becker Leonard, age 89, of Mt. Airy, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025 at her home. She was born on December 5, 1935 in Milwaukee County Wisconsin to the late Herbert and Elvira Arndt Dittmer. Diane was the youngest of two children. Diane was a fierce lover of all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family-celebrating life’s milestones and everyday moments alike with loud laughter, good food, and a house filled with joy.

Whether gathered around a holiday table or enjoying a backyard cookout, Diane’s presence lit up every room. A true lover of life, Diane cherished her dogs, adored her GA family, and found joy in the simple pleasures- Gulf Coast water, cheering on the Green Bay Packers every fall, and spending quiet mornings with a good book, and a warm cup of coffee. Her compassion, humor, and strength were the hallmarks of her life and relationships. She was a pistol!!

Diane is survived by her daughter, Karen Weddle (Ronnie); her daughter, Lynn Hull (Mike); her grandchildren, Alan, Chris, Terri, Cody, and Casey; her great-grandchildren, Kylie, Brody, Grayson, Anna, Tripp, John, Warren, and Vanna. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Wallace Leonard; her son Gregory Becker; a grandchild, Charlie Hull IV; her brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Arleda Dittmer.

A Celebration of Life and visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 beginning at 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Leonard to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palleative Care, 1427 Edgewood Dr Suite 101, Mt Airy, NC 27030.
