Donald Gray Combs, Sr

Mr. Donald Gray Combs, Sr., 84, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Northern Regional Hospital, Friday, April 15, 2022.  He was born in Surry County, January 7, 1938, to the Monroe “Dooley” and Lessie Beverly Combs.  Mr. Combs bravely served in the U.S. Army.  He owned and operated Don’s Commercial Refrigeration for many years, taking pride in what he did and was available for his customers day or night.  Mr. Combs loved his family and treasured time with them.  He especially enjoyed the fun shared with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his devoted wife Belinda Goad Combs; children, Don Combs, Jr., Benny Combs, Ashani McHone, and Sonny Hiatt and wife Susan, Kevin Pruitt and wife Sissy; grandchildren, Jessica, Mark, Jacob and wife Elizabeth, Cheyenne, Miranda, Jamison and wife Afton, Casey, Luke, Hailey, and Landon; great grandchildren, Madilyn, Bailey, Emily, Ella, Owen, and John; and a sister Brenda Reece and husband Jerry.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Combs was preceded in death by a son Randy Combs; and sisters, Sue, Maxine, and Bonnie.  There will not be any formal services.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
