Donald C. Ellis, Sr.

Mr. Donald C. Ellis, Sr, age 82, of Mount Airy, formerly of Roderfield, WV, a retired Coal Miner, passed away March 5, 2020, at Forsyth Medical Center following complication of a stroke.  He is preceded in death by his mother Amanda Mae Shumate & stepfather, Dennis Shumate; his father, George Ellis; his daughter, Melissa Dawn Ellis, and a great grandson, Emmitt Tailor Goss.  Don has several loved ones left to cherish his memory; his daughter Teresa Dillon; sons, Donald Clark Ellis, Jr., Ricky Ellis and wife Libby, and Jimmy Ellis; his grandchildren, Donny, Shane, Randall, Amber, Dakota, and Ricky, Jr.  his great grandchildren, Mallie, Joey, and Everitt; his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Janet Shumate and a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Jim Smoker.  His long time companions, who were always by his side, his dogs, Lil Bit, Sadie, and Molly are still waiting on his bed for him to come home.
