Donna Barker Flippen

Mrs. Donna Barker Flippen passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, at Forsyth Medical Center, surrounded by her loving husband and three children. She was born in Surry County on November 15, 1965, to the late Jimmy and Faye Hemmings Barker. Donna was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and an extraordinary Nana. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her five grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her heart. She was known for her kindness, warmth, strength, and the love she freely gave to everyone around her. Donna touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband, Jeffrey Flippen; daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Watson and Josh, Sarah Hicks and Garry; son, Jacob Flippen and Courtney Tate; grandchildren, Rylan Watson, Hayston Watson, Kinsley Watson, Adelyn Hicks, Zyler Hicks; one brother. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Though her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in the memories, laughter, and love she leaves behind. Her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to family will continue to live on through all those blessed to know her. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Flippen family.
