Mrs. Donna Mae White Isbell, 88, of Dobson, passed away peacefully on Monday night, September 22, 2025, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. Mrs. Isbell was born on August 3, 1937, in McMinnville, OR, the daughter of the Rev. Bryce Lynn White, Sr. and Kathryn Cleo Patterson White. Donna was raised in Briggsdale, CO, and later earned her nursing degree from Desert Springs College in California. She dedicated over 30 years of her career to San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning, CA, and later served at San Bernardino Community Hospital until her retirement. A devoted Christian and member of Salem Baptist Church, Donna was known for her compassionate heart and service to others. She volunteered twice each week at Foothills Food Pantry, where she offered care and kindness to those in need. She also enjoyed cross stitch embroidery, sewing clothes for missionary children, and playing the piano by ear. She is survived by her four children, Lynnda Jean Garrett (Tom), Donald Roger Isbell, Jr. (Sonia), Maylene Joy Hall (Greg), and Martha Marie Isbell; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Dixon (Wayne) and Lynnda Davis (Russell); and a brother, Bryce Lynn White, Jr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Isbell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Roger Isbell, Sr. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Foothills Food Pantry, 233 Cooper Street, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
