Dora "Frances" Hazelwood Holder

Mrs. Dora “Frances” Hazelwood Holder, age 75, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at her home. She was born on May 25, 1949 in Surry County to the late Robert and Irene Matthews Hazelwood. Mrs. Holder retired from Hanes Brands after many years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Stephanie Tilley (Perry), Andrea Lane (Chad), Angela Goad (James); son, Keith Holder (Ashley); grandchildren, Alex Tilley (Emily Evans), Austin Tilley (Savannah Moorefield), Cole Lane, Tyler Holder (Trista Berrier), Levi Horton, Keaton Holder, Tanner Goad; Kashton Holder; great grandchild, Tatum Tilley; sisters, Barbara Willard (Richard), Penny Freeman; brothers, Johnny Hazelwood (Carolyn), Ronnie Hazelwood (Renita). In addition to her parents Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Davis Holder; sister, Catherine Glass; brother Robert Hazelwood Jr. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. A private committal service will be held for the family. The family would like to say a special thanks to Trista Berrier, and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for all the care and support provided to the family .
