Doris Evelyn Dollyhite

Doris Evelyn Dollyhite, age 86 of Mount Airy passed away peacefully at her home May 24, 2025. She was born June 5, 1938, to Jessie and Margie Dollyhite. Evelyn was a devoted member of Slate Mountain Baptist Church. She was a lifelong NC State fan, enjoyed being outdoors, and trout fishing. She is survived by nieces, Betty Sue Martin, Jane Hord, Judy Jessup, Jyl and James Nichols, Pat and Larry Bohannon, and Pam and Wade Priddy; nephews, Kenneth and Peggy Martin, Mike Martin, and Ricky and Wendy Martin; special great nephew, James and Rhonda Martin; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Joe Bill Dollyhite, Rachel Jessup, and Pauline Martin; nieces and nephews, Herbert and Frankie Jessup, Alton Jessup, Jane Martin, and Alan Hord. The visitation will be held on May 29, 2025, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Slate Mountain Baptist Church. Service to be held at Slate Mountain Baptist Church May 29, 2025, at 2:00pm with Rev. Chris McMillian and Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Herman Church Cemetery.
