Doris Eleanor Nelson Bond

Mrs. Doris Eleanor Nelson Bond, age 72 of Mount Airy passed away on Thursday May 9, 2024, at SECU Hospice Center in Yadkinville, NC.  She was born April 6, 1952, in Rockingham County to the late Curtis Nero Nelson and Eleanor Mae Edmonds Nelson.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.   Grandma loved to work outside with her flowers and her garden.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, April and Mark Worrell; 3 grandchildren, Austin Gregory Brintle and Andria Leonard, Emily Worrell Mills and Chase Mills, and Brett Anthony Worrell; 4 great grandchildren, Ella Brintle, Avarie Brintle, Luke Mills and Kennedy Cox; and several other family and friends.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Howard Douglas Bond; sisters, Sylvia Bowman and Peggy Lawson; and four brothers, Harold, Donnie, Ronnie, and David Nelson.  A private graveside service will be held at the Peoples Church Cemetery at a later date.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is assisting the Bond family.
