Dorothia "Dottie" Lee Perry Bowman

Mrs. Dorothia "Dottie" Lee Perry Bowman, 81, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at NC Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. She was born in Burke County on December 23, 1933 to the late John Dillon and Laura Plemmons Perry. Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Grace Moravian Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bill Bowman of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Bowman Chandler and Gary of Murrells Inlet, SC; two sons and daughter-in-law, Perry Bowman and Renee of King, Will Bowman of the home; five grandchildren; Staci Jessup, Matt Mills, Travis Bowman, and Brett Bowman; three great grandchildren; Taylor Mills, Alyssa Jessup, and Chandler Mills; a brother, John Gary Perry and Beverly of Mt. Airy; two nephews, John Lee Perry, and Mark Christopher Perry. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Bowman; a sister, Norma Jean Perry. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Grace Moravian Church with the Rev. Jennie Hemrick officiating. Burial will follow in God's Acre. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00 PM until time for the service at the church.
